About The Artist:
I have been an artist as long as I can remember, as well as a bit of a tomboy. I started painting Triumph motorcycles in 2007. I specialise in bike/biker portraits, so if you have a favourite photo or image of yourself and your bike you would like imortalised in oil paint, please contact me.
I studied fine art, printmaking and photography in London during the 1970′s and have worked as a teacher and freelance textile designer.
In the last few years I have returned to oil painting and printmaking. Although I also make abstract work, my favourite genre is portraiture. Here I have included a beautiful motorbike, landscape and music references.
The painting shown is “Double Portrait:Man and Motorbike(Speed Triple 1050)” 24inches by 19ins, executed(somewhat) in the style of a Led Zeppelin record cover.
This size took 2 weeks to complete and was touch-dry in 3 weeks. This is due to my method of painting: I use a quick drying additive to my oil paint and paint in thin layers, each layer drying before the next is applied. Although the paintings are touch-dry and can be sent – carefully wrapped, all paintings must be left for 6 months before varnishing.
I can also create pen and ink line drawings, based on the painting, to apply to business cards and letter headings.
