About The Artist:
Born in Cluj, Romania in 1970, Radu Muntean exhibited a strong artistic ability as a young boy, always drawing and painting with a particular interest in cars and motor sports. Although his parents would have much preferred him to pursue a more “conventional” education, they allowed him to follow his passion by enrolling him at “Liceul de Arta Plastica” while racing karts at “Clubul Pionierilor.”

A few years before the end of the “Ceausescu era” his family emigrated to the United States and settled in California. Radu continued his art education at Art Institute Of Southern California in Laguna Beach and soon discovered that his automotive interest was too strong to ignore.

Much to his family’s dismay, a few months before graduating he decided to enroll in the transportation program at Art Center College Of Design in Pasadena, CA. It was the only way he could further explore his two lifelong passions.

Over the next four years Radu studied automotive design at Art Center as well as abroad in Vevey, Switzerland. Upon graduation, he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he designed cars for Ford Motor Co. In 2000 he accepted a position with General Motors Advanced studio and moved back to California, where he now lives and works out of his Hollywood Hills studio.

He is a “Porsche Club of America” and “Porsche Owners Club” member, and an avid racer.

About The Artist:
As long as I can remember I had a fascination with the automobile and loved to draw. It would only seem fitting that the two would eventually come together like peanut butter and jelly.

I graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Art and Design (today known as the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design). I majored in Commercial Arts, most specifically Graphic Design. Along with sharpening my skills with the traditional mediums like oil paints, watercolors, charcoal, ink and acrylics I embraced the computer as a medium to create art. Today I enjoy creating digital art of what I like to consider rolling art.

About The Artist:
Reinfried Marass, is a Austrian based professional photographer and automotive artist, born 1960 in Vienna.

After my graduation as mechanical engineer at age of 18 I went on a trip to Egypt and Sudan and was so inspired I started photography immediately upon my return.

My former career as an engineer always kept me in contact with classic and exotic cars. Due to my ‘car-network’ and very close contact with car dealers, car owners, car collectors, etc. I’ve access to nearly all types of cars. ‘Automotive Photography’ and ‘Automotive Art’ became a niche I’m specialized in.

I’m a freelancer doing photography on assignment, editorial photography for magazines and automotive fine art prints. In addition, I’m doing fine art automotive calendars for some upper-class car dealers in Europe.

My work has been internationally recognized and awarded at some of the world’s most famous photo-contests. My photographs have been published in various international magazines and automotive books, including covershots and centerfolds. Some of my images are used as ‘reference’ for agencies, eg. used for full side ads in magazines like ‘The Picture Professional’ and ‘Applied Arts’.

Exhibitions:
PSA (Photographic Society of America) Exhibition at the National Gallery of Kyoto, Japan / World Photography Day 2008.
Some of my work is distributed by the ‘Saatchi Gallery of Contemporary Art, London’. Additionally I run various permanent exhibitions in Austria.

Artwork:
The positioning and relationship of ‘points’, ‘lines’ and (geometrical) ‘areas’ in my photographs is influenced by and ‘dictated’ by the famous german ‘Bauhaus’ (‘House of Building / ‘Building School’) that combined crafts and the fine arts and operated from 1919 to 1933. These rules of formal composition are very important to my work and can be found in many of my photographs.

As an artist and perfectionist I did go one step further and I added and established the usage of ‘Fibonnacci Harmonic Levels’ in photography.

I often use female models to add a ‘slice of life’. I like the contradiction of the female body to the more technical design of most vehicles. Or just to add some style, beauty, fashion or simply to add a touch of erotic. Or just to ‘drive the viewer back in time’.

The other – more expressive – side of my automotive artwork is ‘storytelling’. Scenical car shots or series, with or without people, where the interpretion is up to the viewer.

“Quotes”
“In my opinion the highest level of an art-image is reached when a photograph starts to ‘talk’. Over and over again, varying each time the viewer is looking at it.”

“The interpretion differs from viewer to viewer – it depends on his age, education, experiences of life, origin or sex. Sometimes I like to use a title to give a ‘hint’, but very often I leave it to the viewer to interprete.”
“I personally do not care ‘how’ a work is interpreted – as long as the photograph does animate at all.”

About The Artist:
Richard was born in England in 1961 and has lived in Los Angeles since 1962. When I finished Architecture school (SciArch) in 1989 He began doing watercolor paintings of cars to have another skill.

The more he painted the more he saw in the reflections and loved the challenge of getting them to look correct. His favorite comments have come from people who have no interest in cars and they tell him that love his paintings anyway.

He recently had 17 pieces on display in a solo exhibition at the Automotive Hall of Fame Museum in Dearborn, MI which lasted 16 months. He has also shown at the San Diego Automotive Museum.

His latest series is called The Fraternal Series where two related cars reflect on each other. Having twins gave him the idea.

About The Artist:
Richard has been drawing and painting almost since able to hold a pencil. His family background is full of artistic and engineering talent, and it was with the help of his artistically gifted aunt that Richard first became engrossed in the world of painting.

Whilst Richard remains largely self-taught, he was regarded as a gifted art student at school but was encouraged by his parents to train for a ‘proper job’ and followed a career in engineering. Consequently the artistic ambitions remained but purely on a spare time basis. From the age of about ten years Richard took an interest on motor racing and aviation, following visits to air shows and motor racing meetings it was inevitable that this interest transferred itself into his early drawing and painting efforts. Much later it was undoubtedly the combination of Richard’s engineering and artistic talents that were to prove pivotal in his artist career, his painting becoming increasingly admired for their high level of accuracy and meticulously researched technical detail.

Richard’s first public art display was at the historical site of Brooklands Motor Course in 1982. Encouraged by the success of this first show he repeated his displays at the venue for several years. Since those early successful showings, Richard has exhibited at many prestigious venues, from specialist London galleries to a restaurant in Monaco and an exhibition in Connecticut USA. More recently Richard has become very much part of the motoring art establishment, his work is regularly featured as part of group shows at well-known motor sporting venues such as Silverstone and Goodwood. After well over twenty years in the business Richard’s work graces many private collections worldwide.

Motoring enthusiasts may recognise Richard’s work from his Christmas card paintings for the UK motor industry benevolent charity ‘BEN’. Richard is a great supporter of this worthwhile cause and has worked closely with them since 1989. His card designs are highly sort after and each year continue to raise much-needed funds for the charity. Richard has been involved in many other projects for BEN including limited edition prints, newspaper adverting and brochure covers. Many of his original paintings have also raised money for BEN at auction.

He has become accepted in all spheres of transport art with his aviation and marine subjects receiving ever-increasing attention. It is not unusual to find Richard’s paintings using a combination of subjects land, sea and air in a single painting. Richard often returns to his original love of landscape and architecture for inspiration and often marks a special visit to a memorable location by committing a scene to canvas.

About The Artist:
An Interior Design graduate from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Rick worked for architects and designers in South Florida before opening his own design firm in Fort Lauderdale in 1985. After Desert Storm, his love of aircraft and patriotism guided him to enlist in the Navy for the opportunity to serve his country. This was to be a temporary detour from his chosen career path. 18 years later he is still in the Navy!

His artistic endeavors took pause, but did not falter. As a member of the Naval Flight Demonstration Team, Blue Angels, Rick produced numerous renderings of the F/A-18 “Hornet” in pen and ink. His drawings led to his watercolors and finally oil paintings. The three “A’s”, Aircraft, Automobiles and Architecture are his main subjects of interest. His work plays on the use of shadow and reflection to create intensity and balance.

“As an interior designer, clients would often try to select art that worked with their interior color pallet. Artwork should evoke a feeling, a reaction, or a thought process. If art does that, it doesn’t matter what color the matte is, hang it and enjoy.”

His work is in private collections across the United States.

Available for commissioned work.
