Nicolas Hunziker Automotive Fine Art – Newsletter June

Welcome to the 13th issue of my Newsletter. As usual, I’ve had quite a busy schedule.
In May I traveled back to Switzerland and Germany. I was also on hand to attended the Gallery Opening of the Five Hunziker Art Show in Bad Rappenau. Since my return I have been busy with various projects, some of which I’m glad to be able to share with you now.

Third Degree from Erbella Studios

The last few months have presented their challenges but I got around to finishing this painting which had been sitting around for awhile. I’m expecting lots of free time now and hopefully many more works will follow. Thanks,

Wild Honey

This is one of the cars that got me interested in Hot rods in the sixties. It was built by Roger Devlin and was at the time the wildest thing around. The old photos from magazines that a lot of people posted on the H.A.M.B. site, enabled me to try and recreate it on canvas. Apologies to those who remember it and if things are not quite AS they remember it.

Keke Rosberg’s 1977 F Pacific Chevron

Keke is of course father to young Nico who is doing so well in F1 these days but back in 1977 Keke was the man. He came out to the Atipodes twice and cleaned up (in 77 and 78). This is his winning 1977 Chevron B.34 in a super drift on full oppy lock round a right hander.

Geoff Thornley – New Website

Hi,…my new website address is www.motor-art.org

Technology is wonderful, when it works. This is the third site I have had this year, and hopefully the final one. Apologies as it is still under construction and some of the links work and some are still to be set up, but all should be well by june.

Please email or call if you have any questions about my art.
Many thanks

1985 Nissan Mobil Volvo 240T

The first street race around the waterfront of Wellington was held in 1985. Many stars of overseas racing turned up plus one lonely Volvo 240T at the very last minute. Driven by local hero Robbie Fracevic and Belgian Michel Delcourt it was so late it started from last place without a practice even.
and won!

This drawing shows it crossing the unique 1 lane wooden bridge on the track.
