Stephanie Wellman

About The Artist:
Stephanie was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her father being a cartographer and also an artist himself encouraged her artistic abilities. After spending High School in academics but knowing her passion was in the arts, she changed career paths to study at the Ontario College of Art and Design and continued at the Ottawa School of Art. It was then she discovered the skill of drawing and the passion of painting could be combined with the use of soft pastel.

After many years of landscape painting, the reflections of a landscape on the side of a car and in the chrome caught her attention while at a car show. Her pastel paintings of these classic cars encourage the viewer to observe “inside the norm”. The artistic expression of the motorcar is unique in its own right, but to combine it with its surroundings offers the viewer a splendid display of a distorted reality.

Stephanie is a Master Pastellist and a Signature Member of Pastel Artist of Canada. This award winning artist was also selected as a finalist by the Automobile Journalist Association; with her work touring with a national tour.

Stephanie works exclusively in soft pastel. These original paintings can be purchased or you may request a commission. Cotton rag, 100 % acid free, lignin free, archival prints are also available.
