New Art Medium

New Art 1

New Art 2

New Art 3

New Art 4

Here’s something new. No, not really, but might as well treat this form of art as “NEW”.

I’ve done hundreds of watercolor drawings-paintings of cars……..lots & lots of cars. Street rods, customs and show cars along with the classis (pre-1948)

Now, I’ve taken the pen & ink drawings and through the wonders and mysteries of Adobe Photoshop, merged the two into one very colorful and different art medium.

Here are samples of the results………You can also go to the Car portrait, Woodys, and Street Rod Galleries to see more.

Here’s the cool part; send me your very best photo of your car(s) and (here comes the goofy part) I’ll paint a portrait of the car and post it, embedded within one of the pen & ink drawings, onto my Fine Arts America website.

My choice of backgrounds. If you want to get specific we can discuss a not-so-free commission.

After it’s posted you will receive an e-mailed link to its page. If you like what I’ve done and would like to purchase a print you’ll find directions on how to do that. Otherwise the painting is free but, I keep the original.

Man, that’s so goofy! Paint a car portrait on spec, post it on the FAA site in the off-chance someone will buy a print. Yep! This is called “Doing whatever it takes to sell art in today’s market”.

Hey, I’m taking the chance I’ll only sell a few note cards or, a tiny glossy stretched canvas print or a metal print but, this is better than watching re-runs of “Bones”

My e-mail address is inkyarts@comcast.net and please, no fuzzy out of focus, shadowy shots, I won’t use them. Please send high-resolution (3,000 x 2,500 pixel) .jpg files. If you want to participate but need help give me a call at 575-525-8298.

Thanks for reading and looking,
Jack

  1. Wonderful draughtsmanship and I love the way the car has been filled in, in colour.
The impace of the pigments against the black and white is incredibly impressive.
